What was the reason for the Holocaust?
The person who started the holocaust is thought to be Adolf Hitler. He was a sick person, in the head. When he was growing up, he had a very tough childhood and that resulted in him growing up to be basically psycho. Many people thought that Jews had too much money, so they pretty much became jealous of them. The Jews became the scapegoats for all of the problems with the Germans, and the people thought it would be a good idea if the Jews were dead rather than alive and rich. Hitler basically started the holocaust because he wanted Germany 'purified' from any different people which were the Jews. Hitler had such control over the rest of his army, that they did whatever he said when he said it. Even if they didn't understand it, they were too afraid to question him about it because he threatened to put them in a concentration camp. At the concentration camps, people were tortured and murdered. Whether they were harmless families, homosexuals, gypsies or Russians, Hitler and the Nazis wanted them all eliminated. That is how the Holocaust started.
